T2 for:
Terminator 2?
Terminal 2 of Changi airport?
Nop nop nop..... Its the terrible 2.
You’ll have to excuse us if we sounds worry or fear. Like most parent, we do not want to raise a brat or a holy terror screaming and yelling at the top of her voice for demanding what she wants. Although I may be overstating to label my little Gracia as a brat (she is so far a very obedient child), but what she did a few days ago truly gave me and my wife a wake up call and that we might not be so lucky as to escape her terrible twos.
Characterized by her being negative about certain things recently has been more obvious and she often like to say 'no', we try to believe she isn't trying to be defiant or rebellious on purpose but is just trying to express her growing independence and doesn't have the language skills to easily express her needs.
God’s grace, please give us the strength and to always be calm and patient when handling our little Gracia with her tantrum. We know she’s growing up and is always testing her limit each day which sometime beyond our imagination. Lets us be reminded we are in control of the situation and as a family we will always be united.
What happened?
Gracia just finished a bottle of drink and I gently asked her to throw the empty bottle into the rubbish bin, which she usually will abide with, but not that day. We were surprised that she say ‘no’ but was not too bothered because she sometimes say ‘no’ but after some persuasion, she’ll comply. Then we were even more surprised when after some persuasion, she not only refused to throw the bottle, she started to yelled and was kicking a fuse and even throw the bottle at me. Gosh! That’s about it, me and my wife look at each other and said, it’s about time. It’s about time we need to brush up on how to handle her terrible twos. She finally save the day when she wanted mummy’s milk milk and Lina took that opportunity to ask her to throw the bottle if she wanted it and that’s when she finally did. …… Ya, we are fastening our seat belt for a different ride from now.
